Sunshine Holidays are able to arrange a specific holiday for people who require support to enjoy a luxurious holiday but do not wish to join one of our scheduled group holidays.

For many people with an Acquired Brain Injury or Mental Health challenge, holidaying in a group environment or with adults with intellectual disabilities, is not always desirable. Equally, flexibility of holiday destination and activities are often wanted for any person with a disability.

In some cases we have provided such holidays for the dual purpose of being able to assist in an overall assessment of a person's possible transition to independent living.

Holiday destinations can be arranged anywhere in Australia or Overseas.

Holiday Facilitators provide 24 hour assistance and personal attendant care as required by the holiday guest, including, personal hygiene, special dietary requirements, administration of medication, mobility support, care of personal spending money, support for specific diagnosed conditions such as epilepsy and diabetes.

Holiday facilitators have varying qualifications, skills and life experience, including senior first aid and police checks, however they are not engaged to support guests as specialist psychology or mental health practitioners.

Participation and acceptance of guests is contingent upon assessment of completed application form. Persons with current and ongoing aggressive or violent behaviour are unable to be accommodated.

Costs for individual holidays vary depending on destination, number of guests and level of support required. We can provide guests with a formulated basic guideline to individual holiday costs or alternatively we can prepare a specific holiday itinerary and cost on an individual basis. The costs for an individual holiday for one guest and one facilitator can be quite expensive and thus we maintain a “holiday wish list” wherein your holiday can be more affordable if there are other guests who wish to enjoy a similar holiday. We can match your interests with like-minded guests and facilitators to make your dream holiday a reality.
